Safety instructions
Warning:
WARNING! Do not place near flammable materials. Protect from draughts. Secure to prevent it from tipping over or falling. Never leave children unattended with burning candles or open flames. Do not cover. Warning: hot surface. Risk of burns. Place only on a heat-resistant surface. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Blow out the candle: Carefully extinguish the candle using a candle snuffer or by blowing gently. Take care to avoid splashing wax.
And here are a few more details:
- Our candles should burn at least long enough each time for the entire wax dish to have melted. Otherwise, they will start to form a tunnel, which is not desirable.
- Don’t let the candle burn for more than 2 hours at a time. This helps to ensure that the fragrance oil doesn’t evaporate too quickly. And, of course, it also prevents the glass from getting too hot, as otherwise it might crack.
- Don’t leave a lit candle unattended. That goes without saying, doesn’t it? Oh, and always keep it away from children, pets and – very importantly – curtains! Generally speaking, just make sure there’s nothing flammable nearby.
- It’s best not to place the candle in a draught. That way, it won’t burn down too quickly and won’t produce soot.
- Let the candle set before you light it again.
- If black smoke appears, simply trim the tip of the wick before lighting it again. Feel free to trim the wick down to half a centimetre – that’s enough, and your candle will last longer.
- Always protect the table or surface on which the candle is standing (for example, with a ceramic dish). Make sure the candle is standing firmly on a stable surface. And ensure that your candles are not burning too close to one another or one on top of the other.
- Don’t let the candle burn right down to the bottom. 1 cm of wax is just right. Otherwise, the glass will get too hot and might crack.
- Store your candle in a dry, moderately warm place, at a temperature between 15 and 26°C.
- You should use your candle for the first time within two months.
